Camera on a chair

Seven, eight, nine… yes, exactly. There are nine surfers out there. I watch, mesmerized, as their colorful sails glide across the water. It's truly meditative. Should I try surfing myself sometime? Nice idea. I like it. If someone had told me a year ago that I would have an office overlooking the sea, in a dream house right on the beach, in a charming little seaside town, on one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean… I wouldn't have believed it. I smiled as I continued checking my emails when I heard Julie's voice. "Hi Leo, how are you?" I could already feel her hands on my shoulders, and she began to gently massage them. It feels wonderful; she knows me so well. Suddenly, I could feel her chin on my shoulder. "Office with a view, huh? How much longer are you working today? We're cycling to Artà later. Want to come?“ "Sure, honey, I'm in. Give me another half hour, and could you please continue for a few more minutes…" you purr, closing your eyes contentedly. Thank you, COVID crisis, for creating working from home. That's also the only positive thing this madness has brought. Although, there's something else… I think it's also changed our awareness. In terms of how valuable health is and that we are responsible for our own health. To be honest, I hadn't given it much thought before. As CEO, I was always incredibly busy, and everything ran like clockwork. It was crazy how I lived back then. It wasn't healthy. And that's exactly what I don't want anymore. In our circle of acquaintances, there are cases of heart attacks, burnout, and even cancer. I recently heard a saying that really made me think: "Tell him," the soul says to the body. "He doesn't listen to me.“ Of course, I'd heard of longevity back then. The term is on everyone's lips these days. But I felt too young for it. Hey, I'm 48, surely I should still be fit enough, right? But my last check-up proved me wrong. "Leo, you really need to take better care of yourself," I heard my trusted doctor say as he looked at me seriously over his glasses. "Think about exercise and a healthy diet.“ As soon as I got home, I told Julie about it, and together we decided to make some changes. Optimizing our diet was doable, as was exercise, but how do you reduce stress? Four weeks later, we found ourselves at a longevity resort, recommended by friends. Yes, it was good, really good. We learned a lot there, enjoyed infrared treatments, ice baths, yoga, and we both consciously meditated for the first time. It did us a world of good, but once we got home, the magic was gone after a few days. How frustrating. Then I came across a report about the first privately owned longevity house in Mallorca and immediately booked a flight for the four of us, along with a week's stay in a chic hotel. But then everything changed. The hotel never saw us, because we moved straight into the house. How and why, I'll tell you tomorrow. "Tell me, honey, what do you think about us taking up surfing? All those surfers out there are such an inspiration," I said, pulling Julie onto my lap. "My goodness, you're going to be a real super athlete here, aren't you?" "Can you blame me? Life here in this house is pure inspiration.“
